Fareway’s schedule depends partly on whether the location is a full grocery store or a standalone Meat Market. Sunday is different from the rest of the week because Fareway treats it as a chainwide closure day rather than a reduced-hours shopping day.

Fareway’s Main Store Clock Runs Monday Through Saturday

Many full Fareway grocery stores use an 8:00 a.m. opening and a 9:00 p.m. closing from Monday through Saturday. This is the most common pattern shown across the company’s current store directory, including locations in several of the states Fareway serves.

The pattern is not universal. Some full grocery stores begin the shopping day at 7:00 a.m. while retaining a 9:00 p.m. closing time. The difference is attached to the individual store rather than to an entire time zone or state, so an earlier opening should not be assumed for every location in the same market.

Fareway does not generally use a 24-hour grocery format. A store appearing in online search results late at night should not be interpreted as an overnight location unless its current Fareway store page explicitly lists overnight access.

Grocery Stores and Fareway Meat Markets Have Different Closing Times

Fareway’s standalone Meat Market locations are not always scheduled like its full grocery stores. Current Meat Market pages include locations closing at 7:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m., even though many full grocery stores remain open until 9:00 p.m.

A Meat Market may also have location-specific operations that do not exist at a standard Fareway grocery store. For example, a location with a food truck can publish separate hours for the market and the truck. The closing time of one service therefore does not establish the operating window of the other.

Curbside Pickup Uses Its Own Appointment Window

Fareway’s online shopping system can accept shopping activity around the clock, but curbside handoff is tied to available pickup appointments. Fareway states that pickup can be available in as little as three hours and that customers select a day and time during checkout.

The assigned pickup time matters more than the availability of the online catalog. Fareway holds a completed curbside order until the selected store closes. An order that cannot be collected before closing may be canceled rather than carried into an overnight pickup period.

Order changes also follow the preparation timeline. Customers can edit an order before a store shopper begins assembling it, while later additions become more limited as the pickup time approaches. This means the order-submission window, modification window and physical pickup window are three separate clocks.

Sunday Closure Applies Across Fareway Store Formats

Fareway identifies Sunday closure as a companywide operating practice. It applies to full grocery stores and standalone Meat Market locations, rather than functioning as a shorter weekend schedule.

This distinction also affects curbside service. A shopping cart may remain accessible online on Sunday, but the company’s stated pickup program operates Monday through Saturday. The next usable pickup appointment may therefore fall on Monday even when an order is prepared online during the Sunday closure.

Which Fareway Schedule Controls the Visit
