Fifth Third Bank branches commonly use daytime lobby hours, with longer Friday service at many locations. The more important distinction is between the lobby, drive-thru and Saturday schedule because those service windows are not identical across the branch network.
Lobby and Drive-Thru Hours Are Separate Branch Schedules
Fifth Third treats lobby access and drive-thru service as separate schedules on many of its official branch pages. A location with a drive-thru may therefore display one set of hours for the staffed lobby and another for vehicle service.
This distinction matters for transactions that require a banker or access to the interior of the branch. An open drive-thru does not establish that the lobby is open, and the reverse can also occur depending on the branch setup.
Not every Fifth Third location has the same physical format. Some official location pages show both lobby and drive-thru hours, while others publish only lobby hours. Downtown, in-store and other branch formats may not provide the same drive-up services as a conventional standalone banking center.
| Service or location type | Schedule note |
|---|---|
| Branch lobby | Controls access to staffed indoor banking services and bankers. |
| Drive-thru | Can have its own posted schedule and is not available at every branch. |
| ATM | ATM presence is identified separately on Fifth Third location pages and should not be treated as a lobby schedule. |
| Appointment services | Many branch pages provide an appointment option for banking conversations in addition to normal walk-in access. |
Saturday Closing Time Depends on the Fifth Third Branch
Saturday is where the largest practical difference appears in current Fifth Third schedules. Many standard branches provide a shortened Saturday window, but there is no single closing time that applies to every location.
Current official branch listings show several recurring patterns. Numerous Ohio and Florida locations operate Saturday morning and close around noon. Michigan locations commonly appear with Saturday service extending to about 1:00 p.m., while some Illinois branches list service until about 2:00 p.m. These are useful patterns rather than guaranteed statewide schedules.
There are also Fifth Third branches that are closed all day Saturday. For example, branch format and local operating schedule can produce a weekday-only location even when nearby branches provide Saturday banking.
Saturday service should be treated as a branch-level feature. A nearby Fifth Third branch can have a different Saturday closing time or no Saturday lobby service even when its weekday schedule looks similar.
Sunday Branch Service Is Much More Limited
Sunday is more consistent across the current branch listings reviewed. Standard Fifth Third lobby and drive-thru schedules commonly show Sunday as closed, including locations in Ohio, Michigan, Florida and Illinois.
That does not make every form of Fifth Third access unavailable. Official branch pages identify ATMs separately from the staffed branch, and Fifth Third also provides online and mobile banking. The posted lobby closing schedule should therefore be read as the schedule for staffed branch access rather than a blanket statement about every banking channel.
Customers who specifically need a teller, banker, safe-deposit service or another in-person function should use the branch’s staffed schedule. Safe deposit boxes, for example, appear among the services listed at some Fifth Third locations but are not presented as a universal feature of every branch.
Appointments Do Not Replace the Local Branch Schedule
Fifth Third location pages commonly provide a way to schedule an appointment, alongside links for services such as mortgage or financial-advisor assistance. This can help when the visit involves more than a routine teller transaction.
An appointment should still be associated with the selected banking center rather than a general Fifth Third operating window. Branches differ in physical services and staffing, so the presence of an appointment option does not mean every service is offered at every location.
This is especially relevant when choosing between nearby branches. One location may provide a drive-thru and safe deposit boxes, while another may operate primarily as a lobby-based banking center. The service listed for the location can matter as much as its opening and closing time.
September 2026 Will Expand the Fifth Third Branch Network
Fifth Third has a major branch-network change scheduled for September 2026 as Comerica locations transition to Fifth Third. The bank states that most Comerica branches are expected to continue operating and become Fifth Third branches beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2026, while customers of branches selected for closure are being notified separately.
Labor Day transition weekend: Comerica branches are scheduled to be closed from Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7, 2026, before continuing as Fifth Third branches on September 8 where applicable. Fifth Third states that ATM access will remain available during the transition weekend.
This conversion is particularly relevant to local-hours searches because Fifth Third’s branch footprint and the set of locations appearing under its name will change after September 8. Newly converted branches should be evaluated using their own published Fifth Third location schedules rather than assuming they will immediately use the same Saturday or drive-thru pattern as an existing Fifth Third branch nearby.
