Hours Locator is an independent information site and is not affiliated with McDonald's.

A McDonald’s restaurant can operate on more than one clock. Indoor dining, drive-thru service, breakfast, mobile pickup and delivery can each have different availability at the same location.

Dining Room and Drive-Thru Hours Can Be Different

McDonald’s U.S. location pages can list Restaurant & Lobby Hours separately from Drive Thru Hours. That distinction matters at restaurants where the drive-thru continues operating after customers can no longer enter the dining room.

Some locations keep both channels on the same schedule, while others extend drive-thru service later into the night. There are also restaurants where the drive-thru operates around the clock even though indoor access closes for part of the night.

The national restaurant locator reflects this service-based structure. Its filters include Drive Thru, Indoor Dining, McDelivery and Open 24/7, allowing a restaurant to be identified by the particular service needed rather than treating every McDonald’s location as having one universal set of hours.

Breakfast Has Its Own Menu Cutoff

Restaurant opening time does not tell you how long breakfast remains available. McDonald’s states that local breakfast menus and serving hours are determined at the local level by Co-Ops and franchisees.

Breakfast can often be ordered from the time a restaurant opens until 10:30 or 11:00 a.m. local time. The exact changeover is restaurant-specific. At a 24-hour restaurant, this also means that being open overnight does not imply that the breakfast menu is served during every overnight hour.

The lunch menu generally begins when the restaurant changes over from breakfast. For an order near that transition, the breakfast cutoff is therefore more relevant than the building’s opening or closing time.

Delivery and Mobile Pickup Use Their Own Availability Windows

McDelivery is offered through participating restaurants and is tied to the delivery address entered during ordering. The McDonald’s app checks the selected address and indicates whether delivery is available from a restaurant serving that area.

Mobile Order & Pay can also offer several pickup methods. Depending on the restaurant and time of day, these can include curbside pickup, the front counter, table service or drive-thru pickup. A pickup option that appears earlier in the day may not remain available for the restaurant’s entire operating period.

For delivery, the active ordering window is the relevant service period. A dining room or drive-thru may still be operating even when McDelivery is not currently offered for a particular address, and delivery participation is not guaranteed at every restaurant.

Open 24/7 Does Not Mean Every Service Runs 24 Hours

McDonald’s identifies some U.S. restaurants as open 24/7, but service-specific schedules still matter. The company’s current drive-thru guidance states that local drive-thru hours are determined by the restaurant, including whether late-night or all-night service is available.

Current McDonald’s location pages also demonstrate why the individual service listing matters: restaurant and lobby access can have one schedule while the drive-thru has another. Breakfast retains a separate menu cutoff, and delivery depends on participation and ordering availability.

24-hour status should be read as a location or service attribute, not as proof that indoor dining, breakfast, delivery and every pickup method are all available around the clock.
