Stop & Shop does not use one chainwide timetable for every supermarket. The main store, pharmacy counter, gas station and online-order services can each follow a different operating window.

Stop & Shop Store Hours Are Set at the Location Level

Stop & Shop operates across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. Its store directory publishes a separate weekly schedule for each supermarket rather than presenting one national opening and closing time.

Current location pages show several distinct patterns. Some supermarkets open at 6:00 a.m., while others begin business at 7:00 a.m. Closing times can range from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and a store may close earlier on Sunday than during the rest of the week.

For example, the Orleans, Massachusetts supermarket currently lists a later weekday and Saturday closing time than its Sunday closing time. The Wilton, Connecticut store follows a shorter daily schedule, while the Franklin Square, New York location remains open later. These are local schedules, not regional rules that can be applied to every store in the same state.

Pharmacy Counters Can Close While the Store Stays Open

A supermarket with a Stop & Shop Pharmacy displays pharmacy hours separately from the grocery-store schedule. Access to the sales floor therefore does not mean that prescriptions, vaccinations or pharmacist services are available at that time.

Many current pharmacy pages include a midday closure between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Weekday counters commonly remain open later than weekend counters, but individual schedules differ. Some pharmacies list reduced Saturday and Sunday service, while certain locations show the pharmacy as closed on Saturday.

The pharmacy section of a location page also identifies the pharmacy phone number and links to a dedicated pharmacy profile. That profile is the relevant schedule for prescription pickup, refill questions and services requiring pharmacy staff.

Pickup, Delivery and Gas Stations Use Separate Windows

Participating stores offer online grocery pickup and delivery, but these services are controlled by available reservation slots rather than the supermarket’s door hours. Stop & Shop states that pickup can be available in as little as two hours at qualifying locations, while also noting that pickup is not offered in every area.

An order may stop accepting additions before its scheduled fulfillment time. Stop & Shop currently states that customers can add items until two hours before a pickup window, creating a practical cutoff that comes before the order is collected.

Selected supermarkets also have an associated gas station. Where one is present, the location page can provide a separate gas-station schedule, phone number and address. The fuel facility may open later, close earlier or use different Sunday hours than the adjoining supermarket.

Which Stop & Shop Clock Applies to Your Visit

Stop & Shop service schedules shown on local location pages
Service or location typeSchedule note
Main supermarketControls access to the grocery sales floor and uses its own seven-day store schedule.
Pharmacy counterUses separately published hours and may include a midday closure or reduced weekend service.
Grocery pickupDepends on reservable pickup windows and an order-change cutoff rather than store closing time.
DeliveryDepends on service coverage and available delivery slots for the selected address.
Gas stationAppears only at selected locations and can follow a schedule distinct from the supermarket.

The main-store schedule applies to ordinary in-store grocery shopping. Prescription service requires the pharmacy schedule, fuel purchases depend on gas-station hours, and online orders are governed by the pickup or delivery slot assigned during checkout.
