Truist treats branch lobby, drive-thru, and ATM access as separate service schedules. Saturday banking is available at selected branches, while ATM access can continue long after staffed banking has ended.
Lobby and Drive-Thru Hours Use Separate Service Listings
Truist branch pages identify Branch (lobby) and Drive thru hours separately when a location offers both. At many traditional branches, the two schedules match, but the drive-thru should not be treated as an automatic extension of lobby service.
The distinction matters because Truist locations do not all offer the same physical setup. Some branches have a drive-up window, while others operate without one. The bank’s location search includes a specific Drive Through filter, allowing drive-up branches to be distinguished from locations that provide only lobby or ATM access.
| Service or location type | Schedule note |
|---|---|
| Branch lobby | Covers staffed branch access and is displayed as its own schedule on Truist location pages. |
| Drive-thru | Shown separately at branches with a drive-up window; availability depends on the branch. |
| ATM | Uses a separate access schedule and is listed as 24 hours at many Truist branch locations. |
| Appointment-based services | Individual branches may list certain mortgage, investment, treasury, trust, insurance, or other services as available by appointment. |
Saturday Banking Is a Branch-Level Feature
Saturday service is not uniform across the Truist branch network. Truist provides an Open Saturdays filter in its branch search, reflecting the fact that weekend banking is offered only at certain locations.
Current official branch listings show two common Saturday patterns. Some locations open the lobby and drive-thru for a short morning window, often ending around noon, while other branches remain closed for the entire weekend. This difference can occur even among otherwise similar full-service branches.
Sunday staffed branch service is much less common. The regular schedules published for the Truist branches reviewed for this page show lobby and drive-thru service closed on Sunday, even where the associated ATM remains accessible.
ATM Access Can Continue After the Branch Closes
A closed Truist lobby does not necessarily mean the entire location is unavailable. Many Truist branch pages list their associated ATM as 24 hours, creating a separate access window for transactions that can be completed without a teller or banker.
Truist also identifies ATM capabilities separately from branch operating hours. Depending on the machine, services can include withdrawals and deposits, and many Truist ATMs support access using an eligible Truist debit card stored in a digital wallet. The location system can also flag an ATM when deposits or cash withdrawals are temporarily unavailable.
ATM hours therefore should not be used as a substitute for lobby or drive-thru hours. Transactions involving a banker, safe-deposit access, certain account services, or another staffed service still depend on the branch schedule.
Truist’s 2026 Holiday Calendar Changes Staffed Banking
Truist states that it generally observes the Federal Reserve holiday schedule. Its published 2026 bank calendar identifies closures for the major Federal Reserve holidays, including the federal holidays represented in the dated schedule used for this page.
Christmas Eve follows a different rule. Truist states that banking offices close at 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve. That is an early staffed-office closing rather than a full-day bank holiday. Some Truist subsidiaries and affiliates can follow different holiday calendars.
Truist’s published holiday material does not provide a single retail-branch status for every date commonly searched as a holiday, such as Easter, Black Friday, or New Year’s Eve. Those dates are therefore not assigned an assumed open, closed, or reduced-hours status here.
Which Truist Transactions Need Staffed Branch Time?
The relevant schedule depends on what needs to be done at the location. Truist branch pages identify both the access channel and many of the in-person services offered at that specific branch.
- Teller and banker transactions: These depend on staffed lobby availability.
- Drive-up transactions: A drive-thru must be offered at the branch and operating during its listed service window.
- Safe-deposit access: The branch must offer safe-deposit boxes and the staffed area must be accessible.
- ATM withdrawals or deposits: These can remain available outside branch hours when the location’s ATM has extended or 24-hour access.
- Specialized banking services: Some branch listings identify mortgage, investment, treasury, trust, insurance, or other services as appointment-based.
This separation is especially useful at Truist because a single address can have three different operating layers: the staffed lobby, a drive-thru lane, and an ATM. The operating status of one does not establish the operating status of the others.
