Michaels store hours cover in-person shopping, but pickup and delivery services follow additional order deadlines. A store can remain open after the cutoff for receiving an order the same day.
The Store Clock Is Not the Same as an Order Deadline
The posted opening and closing times describe when customers can enter the Michaels location. They do not guarantee that an online order placed near closing will be prepared immediately or delivered that day.
Michaels advertises same-day store pickup for eligible orders placed by 5 p.m. Product eligibility depends on the selected store’s inventory and assortment, so an item offered for shipping may not necessarily be available for local pickup.
An order confirmation also does not mean the merchandise is ready at the counter. Customers must wait for the separate pickup-ready notification before traveling to the store.
Pickup Starts After the Ready Notification
Michaels offers both in-store and curbside collection for qualifying store-pickup orders. The ready email includes the instructions needed to collect the purchase, including curbside directions when that option is available.
Inside participating stores, pickup orders may be placed in a designated Grab & Go self-service area. Orders requiring staff assistance, including inflated balloons, may use a different collection process.
The person collecting the order should bring a valid driver’s license or another government-issued photo ID. Michaels also permits the purchaser to designate an additional pickup person through the order details.
Same-Day Delivery Uses an Earlier Cutoff
Same-day delivery is offered through select Michaels stores rather than every location. The service is limited to eligible addresses within the delivery area, which Michaels describes as within approximately 10 miles of a participating store.
Eligible orders placed by 2 p.m. can be delivered that day. Orders submitted after that cutoff are scheduled for the following day instead, even when the store itself remains open for several more hours.
Delivery eligibility is determined during shopping and checkout. Product size, inventory, destination, and the services supported by the selected store can affect which fulfillment choices appear.
Local Pages Identify Available Michaels Services
Individual Michaels location pages can list more than the storefront schedule. Depending on the store, the service section may identify in-store shopping, Buy Online Pickup in Store, curbside pickup, same-day delivery, custom framing, balloon inflation, fabrics, birthday parties, or classes and events.
Those service labels confirm that a location offers the activity; they do not establish a separate nationwide schedule for every counter or event. Custom framing assistance, balloon preparation, classes, and scheduled activities can depend on staff availability or a reserved time even while the sales floor is open.
Pickup Orders Are Held for a Limited Period
Michaels keeps completed store-pickup orders available for five business days. An order that is not collected within that period is canceled, the merchandise is returned to store inventory, and the payment is refunded.
The pickup location cannot be changed after an order is submitted. Choosing the wrong store normally requires canceling the original pickup order and placing a new order with the intended location, subject to that store’s inventory.
