Planet Fitness uses more than one operating schedule across its U.S. club network. Many locations provide round-the-clock access, while some clubs close overnight or use shorter Friday and weekend hours.
24/7 Access Is Common, but It Is Not Universal
Planet Fitness describes most of its clubs as open 24 hours, and many individual location pages display Open & Staffed 24/7 instead of a day-by-day timetable. This format can be found at clubs in different parts of the country, including locations in Texas, California, Florida and Tennessee.
Other Planet Fitness clubs follow a different pattern. Some New York City locations, for example, open early in the morning and close at night, with shorter Saturday and Sunday schedules. Certain Florida clubs operate continuously through much of the workweek but close on Friday night and use daytime weekend hours.
This means a 24-hour Planet Fitness pattern is useful as a national typical schedule, but it should not be interpreted as a promise that every club remains open all night.
Staffed 24/7 Is a Specific Club-Level Designation
The wording on the individual club page matters when determining staff availability. Locations displaying Open & Staffed 24/7 explicitly identify both club access and staffing as round-the-clock.
For clubs with limited operating hours, Planet Fitness generally presents a section labeled Club Hours. Those pages do not always provide a second, separately labeled staffing timetable. A limited-hours club therefore should not automatically be treated as having an additional staff schedule unless the location publishes one.
| Time or service | Schedule note |
|---|---|
| Club access | Shown through the location’s Club Hours or an Open & Staffed 24/7 designation. |
| Staff availability | Explicitly round-the-clock when the club is labeled Open & Staffed 24/7; a separate staffing schedule is not displayed for every club. |
| PF Classes | Class timing is handled through a separate schedule and should not be inferred from general club opening hours. |
| Holiday operation | Individual club pages can provide holiday-hour information separately from the normal weekly schedule. |
PF Class Times Are Separate From Building Access
Being able to enter a Planet Fitness club does not mean every scheduled service operates throughout the same period. Official location pages place PF Classes in their own area and provide a separate schedule for those sessions.
This distinction is especially relevant at 24-hour clubs. The fitness floor may remain available overnight even though a particular class or trainer-led session appears only during scheduled periods. Club access hours should therefore be used for deciding when the facility is open, while the class schedule controls attendance for a specific PF Classes session.
Holiday Hours Are Handled at the Individual Club Level
Planet Fitness location pages include a holiday-hours function alongside normal club hours, rather than relying on one fixed national holiday timetable. Because the chain includes both 24/7 clubs and locations with shorter weekly schedules, a holiday opening or closing time should not be inferred from the club’s normal pattern.
A club that normally operates around the clock can still publish a holiday exception. Likewise, a location with limited regular hours can use a different opening or closing time for a particular holiday. Without a verified nationwide calendar covering all major U.S. holidays, those dates should remain separate from the normal weekly schedule.
Which Planet Fitness Time Applies to Your Visit?
For an ordinary workout, the relevant time is the club’s published access schedule. The Open & Staffed 24/7 label provides the clearest indication that both access and staffing continue around the clock at that location.
For PF Classes, use the session schedule rather than the building’s opening time. On holidays, the club’s holiday listing takes precedence over its normal weekly pattern. Keeping those three clocks separate prevents a 24-hour access listing from being mistaken for a 24-hour class schedule or a guarantee of normal operation on a holiday.
